Where do you attend College/Univ., or where would you like to attend?

Next fall I will be attending Grace College (Grace Bretheren) in Winona Lake, Indiana. Assuming that I am accepted. icon_biggrin.gif

Why is Tyndale out of the question?

Thats a great school!! I have friends that go there and my sister went there last year. She left though because it was so far from home. (I live in Indiana) But the school is nice and small and people are great there!! I loved going there and hanging out.

Well Tyndale isn't that far away from me. I live in the Niagrara Falls area. But I don't that I caould afford the dorms and I'm not too sure about living in the dorms. Plus free rent at home is looking appealing. I am still thinking about Tyndale for my education but for Accounting of Buisness Management Brock has a really good program.

I went to UofT (univ of Toronto) - and I didn't like it at all. Educationally, it's a great school - but it was sooooooo boring and anti-social icon321.gif

I have a friend thats from that area and goes to Tyndale!! Her name is Mer......(you probably dont know her, and that would be a little freaky if you did...)

But yeah, living at home while going to school would be great. However thats really not an option for me. All the Christian schools are too far from where I live. But with Gods help, I know I will be able to afford it. I have to pay for college myself. And its going to cost $20,000 a year (thats with dorms). Canadians think their schools are expensive...come to the USA...it cost a LOT more. Its all in Gods hands though, so Im just going to do my part and pray and look for scholarships and save money...and let God provide as he wants. icon_smile1.gif

Haha, yes yes Canadian schools are a lot less expensive. But the only thing is, its much tougher to get a scholarship in Canada than in the states. If I would have gone to the states I would have gotten about a 12,000 scholarship the first year because of my marks and sports. But still that leaves about 10,000 left. So I figured I'd stick to Canada, and still pay 10,000 but in CAD, so it would be about the same.

But school in general I think is way too much. haha, I pay 8,000 just for tuition. Not even including books. But whatever, it gives me an education and a job out of it... so I'll have tonnes of debt, but it will be able to be paid off.

I also must say, I am so glad I didn't go to a christian school. I know that sounds weird, but I've met so many different people, and there is an awesome Christian group on Campus as well... even though it really wasn't an option for me .

I am a Junior in high school at the moment, so I've got to hurry up and make up my mind about where I'm planning on going so I can get money and all of this other junk for it. I'm planning on going to Southeastern College in Lakeland, Florida. It's a bible college. I want to major in either Christian Ministry or Christian Education. Cassie wants to be a KIDS MINISTER!! Yep. Or something having to do with foreign languages. I really love learning different languages. I can't think of one career though, because I have so many things that I want to do. Any suggestions?

Je t'aime,
Cassie

Very awesome! I want to work with kids as well!!! icon_biggrin.gif

Someone mentioned OSU.....I stayed in their dorms a couple years ago...I personally didnt like that school. I wasnt impressed witht he campus at all. Check it out before you go there...

The main reason I will not go to a public college is because of the co-ed dorms. I dont think thats right. And also, I would much rather have professors that I know are Christians and that I feel comfortable talking to about things. And also, the atmosphere I think is a lot different and I love learning more about the Bible and getting really deep into the word. So I really want to take some classes like that and such. Also, Id like to minor in ministry and spanish. I have so many things I want to do with my life...its just a matter of Gods will..

Oh and I want to major in early childhood education. (I adore kids.....they are so amazing!!! I seriously want 10 kids when im married. Some my own and some adopted..)

My dad went there. He has an engineering degree. Im not sure if this is true but my dad said its the best school for engineering. So if thats what you want to do, I would go there. Sounds like a good school! icon_smile1.gif

i have been going to OSU and i love it. so what if it is not a christian school, that doesnt mean that im not a christian. i did live in coed dorms, but its not like your living right next to a different sex. you can't shield yourself from the real world and only associate with christian people, it would be nice if everyone was that way, but a lot of people are not. i love it there and have found a great base of friends. i also can still learn a lot about christianity, there are classes to take and i can also study it on my own.

Why is it everytime I mention wanting to go to a Christian school people go off and say 'you cant shield yourself' blah blah blah....whos trying to sheild themselves? I go to a public high school....im not sheltered at all. Today, I am very frustrated with people in this world and the way they are. No one at all respects anyone else and it makes me mad to see the rudness and crap all around.

I want to go to a Christian school because thats where God has called me. Good for you that you are goin to OSU, I dont like the school. Thats my opinion and Im entitled to it. God calls different people to different places. That doesnt give anyone the right to diss someone else because of where God leads them.
